The Story Behind the Piece
The kite motif has been a joyful presence in Japanese decorative arts for centuries, symbolising celebration, ambition, and a connection to the skies. This vintage silk fabric, carefully sourced by Risa, once formed part of a traditional kimono, and has been reimagined into a contemporary pouch while preserving its cultural charm. Each piece is individually cut, sewn, and finished by hand in my London studio, making it truly one of a kind.
