Hanabishi and Fan Vintage Silk Kimono Journal / 花菱と扇のジャーナル
Bring a sense of artistic heritage and quiet beauty to your daily writing ritual with this limited-edition journal. Handcrafted at Risa’s atelier in London, the cover uses reclaimed silk from an authentic vintage Japanese kimono, carefully sourced from small, trusted businesses in Japan.
The cover features a stunning pairing of the Hanabishi (diamond flower) and traditional folding fan (sensu) motifs. The Hanabishi is a classic geometric crest historically used by court nobles and samurai clans to represent nobility, refinement, and high status. Alongside it, the folding fan symbolises prosperity and suehirogari—a bright future expanding outward like the shape of an opening fan.
