The rare vintage kimono silk used for this piece was gifted by an English gentleman in memory of his late Japanese wife, an exceptionally talented artist and author who passed away in 2025. This very piece was featured in our recent video, documenting the journey of honoring her creative spirit. Through thoughtful transformation, her cherished textile has been given a second life in the West—allowing her legacy, artistry, and heritage to live on.

The design features a serene Floating Lotus (蓮) motif. In traditional Japanese culture, the lotus carries a poetic and comforting meaning, symbolising purity, resilience, and the peaceful awakening of the soul as it blossoms beautifully out of muddy waters. Styled to capture the gentle, fluid movement of a flower floating peacefully on a stream, this pattern brings together timeless elegance and a sense of calm, sacred luxury.
